Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan turns 77 today. The superstar has proved time and again that age is no bar, be it in the film industry or the advertising business.
Bachchan, who has spent over 50 years in the entertainment industry, still makes it to the top among actors with the highest brand value.
The veteran actor has perfectly managed to remain relevant in the endorsement world, starring in films and continuing to anchor ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ year after year.
According to reports, Bachchan charges Rs 5 to 8 crore for an advertisement.
In the late 70s, Big B was known to be a one-man-industry and now after years it wouldn’t be wrong to call him one-man-brand. From Maggi to Emami, Parker Pen to Dabur, Brand Bachchan’s magic has worked for all. At present, he has more than 15 brands from 12 different categories.
Among the major brands in his kitty are - Dr Fixit, Cadbury, Navratna Oil, Gujarat Tourism, Emami, Dabur, Mankind and Kalyan Jewellers. He has also been the face for ICICI Prudential Life, Tanishq, Pepsi and polio vaccination drives.
While a lot of brands are investing in young talent, he still remains a favourite.
“Amitabh Bachchan is a legend for a reason and inspiration for generations to come,” says Atul Mohan, Film Trade Analyst. The actor’s charm and hard work gives him an edge over his peers and makes him the first choice from brands as well as movies, Mohan added.
His current line-up of movies and brand engagements indicates that the timeless actor is here to stay.
