Honasa Consumer, the parent company of Mamaearth, increased its advertising expenditure sharply in FY25 even as profitability took a hit. The company’s advertisement expenses rose to Rs 743.4 crore for the year ended March 31, 2025, up 12.4% from Rs 661.3 crore in FY24.

The higher ad spend comes as Honasa continues to invest in brand building and category expansion, though the push weighed on overall margins. Revenue from operations stood at Rs 2,066.9 crore in FY25, marking a 7.7% rise over Rs 1,919.9 crore a year earlier. Total income climbed nearly 9% to Rs 2,145.7 crore.

Expenses, however, grew at a faster pace wherein overall costs increased 12.8% to Rs 2,056.1 crore. Advertisement outlay was the single largest cost component, accounting for more than 60% of other expenses.

This surge in spending dragged down the bottom line. Profit before tax fell 39% to Rs 89.6 crore from Rs 147.2 crore last year. Net profit after tax stood at Rs 72.7 crore, a decline of 34.3% from Rs 110.6 crore in FY24.
