He drives a Lamborghini, owns luxury cars, and has an office in Dubai. This isn’t the story of a high-profile CEO but of a content creator/ influencer who has turned a chai ki tapri into a global brand. Meet Dolly Chaiwala, the viral tea vendor from Nagpur, who went from selling tea for Rs 7 a cup to serving the same for Rs 5 lakh at a five-star hotel in Kuwait.
Brewing Big Numbers
With over 4.5 million Instagram followers and 2.01 million YouTube subscribers, Dolly’s Chaiwala aka Nazar Wali Chaiwala (real name Sunil Patel) is a force to reckon with. His daily earnings from his tsall 'Dolly ki tapri in Nagpur' is between Rs. 2,450 and Rs. 3,500, thanks to his impressive sales of 350 to 500 cups each day.
Dolly has become a sought-after brand ambassador and event host, leading to invitations for events abroad. However, his growing stature comes with hefty demands.
According to food blogger AK Food Vlog, who tried to invite Dolly to Kuwait, the influencer charges between 5 to 10 lakh rupees for event appearances. The blogger was taken aback when Dolly’s manager quoted a fee of 2,000 dinars (approximately 5 lakh rupees) for a one-day event, plus additional costs, including the presence of another person and a booking at a 4- or 5-star hotel.
Personal Branding
Like PM Narendra Modi, who rose from a chaiwala to a global leader, this 26-year-old school dropout has turned his tea stall into a powerful brand. Recently, he shared a video on Instagram working on a laptop in a sleek office building in Dubai.

Dolly’s rise isn’t just about chai – it’s his larger-than-life personality that sets him apart. With his yellow goggles, gold chains, and swag influenced by Rajinikanth and Jack Sparrow, his chai-making videos are a hit across social media.
His viral slow-motion milk pours and dramatic chai flips have captivated audiences worldwide, even catching the attention of tech mogul Bill Gates. In one viral instance, a woman mimicked his iconic chai-making style, further adding to his global appeal.
He has recently appeared in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagpur election campaigns, driven by his desire to support small businesses. His popularity among young voters has made him a key player in these campaigns, especially in Maharashtra elections.
Last Saturday, he also made his mark in reality television with an appearance on Bigg Boss 18. Known for Salman Khan hosting, high voltage drama and high stakes, the show is the perfect platform for Dolly’s charismatic personality.
Dolly Chaiwala has proven that with the right mix of personality, authenticity, and a touch of drama, even a roadside tapri can become a global brand. As he continues to brew success, he’s not just serving chai – he’s serving a masterclass in personal branding.
