Amazon has introduced its ultra-fast delivery service, Amazon Now, in Mumbai, extending the offering beyond Bengaluru and Delhi. The service allows customers to order everyday essentials with deliveries promised in around 10 minutes.

To enable the model, the company has set up over 100 micro-fulfilment centres across the three cities. These local hubs are designed to keep high-demand essentials in stock and process orders within minutes. Amazon has indicated that it plans to scale this network further by adding more centres before the year ends.

According to Samir Kumar, Vice President and Country Manager, Amazon India, demand from early adopters in Bengaluru has been growing steadily, leading to the decision to expand operations into Mumbai. The company said Amazon Now aims to provide a range of items including groceries, personal care products, and accessories, with delivery timelines ranging from minutes to the same or next day depending on the product.

The service is being rolled out gradually across neighbourhoods in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai, with availability visible through a dedicated icon on the Amazon app. The company has also indicated that expansion into additional cities is under consideration.
