Whalar, the global creator agency, has been appointed as the global creator partner by Firefox, the privacy-focused browser developed by Mozilla, media networks have reported. The announcement comes alongside the launch of Firefox’s first worldwide campaign, titled ‘Open What You Want’, signaling a significant expansion of their collaboration beyond the US.
The partnership leverages Whalar’s expertise in crafting culturally relevant Creator campaigns that resonate with younger, digitally native audiences. In 2024, Whalar demonstrated this with Frank Conversations, part of Firefox’s Nothing Personal initiative, a Creator-led interview series hosted by Owen Thiele that explored online identity and privacy in an engaging, humorous way.
Central to the new campaign are the ‘House Blends’ events, a series of early-morning coffee raves in key cities that merge online culture with real-world experiences. The events transform traditional coffee shops into immersive spaces of music, energy, and self-expression, embodying Firefox’s message of choice and individuality.
The first events in the US, followed by Chicago on October 4 and Los Angeles on November 8. Additional locations are expected to be announced in the coming months.
Christina Lang, VP of Global Marketing at Mozilla, was reported as saying, “Browsers are a critical part of the online experience, yet many stick with whatever comes pre-installed. Through this campaign, we’re turning a simple cup of coffee into a reminder of the power of choice online. Partnering with Whalar allows us to bring this concept to life in a fun, creative, and memorable way.”
Jo Cronk, Co-CEO of Whalar, said, “Being selected as Firefox’s global creator partner is a reflection of the work we’ve built together over the years. Creators shape culture, and when their insights are combined with community-driven strategies, campaigns like ‘Open What You Want’ can spark meaningful engagement on a global scale.”
The campaign will continue through 2025, with plans for new cities, cultural takeovers, and music playlists, all driven by a vibrant creator community. Whalar’s appointment underscores the agency’s ongoing momentum and recognition in the industry for its creator-first, culture-focused approach to brand marketing.
