When Nickelodeon's Motu Patlu performed Yoga with Prime Minister Modi
Cosmos-Maya, creators of the cartoon characters, said the event boosted their plans of producing child-friendly Yoga videos on their YouTube channel WowKidz
Iconic cartoon characters Motu and Patlu performed yoga along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the fifth edition of the International Day of Yoga, June 21, in Ranchi.
The event was in line with Motu Patlu creators Cosmos-Maya’s efforts, to encourage kids to adopt a healthy lifestyle. The studio is in the process of producing Yoga videos to air on WowKidz, its YouTube platform.
These videos will have Vir and Imli, characters from the company’s hit series ‘Vir: The Robot Boy’, teaching kids asanas.
“The Bhagawad Gita calls Yoga a journey of the self, through the self, to the self. It has been our endeavour to pass on this message to all our employees and viewers alike. We are in the process of creating dedicated videos to help kids understand the benefits of Yoga,” Anish Mehta, CEO, Cosmos-Maya, said. “With the 23 million subscribers, the reach and scope of these videos will be tremendous. We are very proud to be following in our Prime Minister’s footsteps, and we will take Yoga to every nook and corner of the country in 12 regional languages.”
On Yoga Day thousands of people gathered at the Prabhat Tara ground in Ranchi to participate in the massive yoga event which went on for 45 minutes. Nickelodeon, the channel which airs the Motu Patlu series, had included the characters as part of the proceedings.
