Ten Sports returns as the official broadcaster of Aircel Chennai Open

Ten Sports continues its alliance with Aircel Chennai Open (ACO) for yet another edition of the tournament as the ‘official broadcaster’. The channel has bagged exclusive rights of telecasting the tournament in India. Ten Sports will bring home international tennis action of Aircel Chennai Open 2011 to more than 70 million Indian households. Ten Sports’ coverage kicks off on-air from Monday, 3 January 2011 and will continue till Sunday, 9 January 2011.

Ten Sports returns as the official broadcaster of Aircel Chennai Open

Ten Sports continues its alliance with Aircel Chennai Open (ACO) for yet another edition of the tournament as the ‘official broadcaster’. The channel has bagged exclusive rights of telecasting the tournament in India. Ten Sports will bring home international tennis action of Aircel Chennai Open 2011 to more than 70 million Indian households. Ten Sports’ coverage kicks off on-air from Monday, 3 January 2011 and will continue till Sunday, 9 January 2011.

Announcing the tie-up, said Mr. Atul Pande, CEO, Taj Television, “We have once again kept our promise to bring International events to Indian audiences. Tennis followers have grown multifold in the past decade. Tennis has a huge fan following in the country and our association with Aircel Chennai Open will give an opportunity to tennis fans to witness some of the big international and national stars not only in India but worldwide.”

Commenting on the association with Ten Sports, Mr. Ravi Krishnan, Managing Director IMG South Asia and Sr. Vice-President, IMG Worldwide, said, “We are pleased to continue the partnership with Ten Sports, as the official broadcaster, for the Aircel Chennai Open 2011, which will ensure that tennis fans across India have the opportunity to witness the country’s only ATP event. Additionally, this tie-up will also create a nationwide media multiplier for sponsors that get associated with the tournament.”

Mr. Hiten Joshi, the CEO of TNTA, said “I am very happy to learn that Ten Sports will be the Official Broadcaster for the Aircel Chennai Open 2011 Event. Ten Sports, which is the broadcaster for US Open has a very wide reach in India. As one who is associated with the tournament for 15 years. I am aware of the need to make Chennai Open a Pan-Indian Event and Ten Sports will take our tournament live to the houses of Non-Chennai Viewers.”

Aircel Chennai Open over the years has been providing corporate houses across various sectors, a platform to gain visibility amongst a wide range of audiences. As the broadcast partner of Aircel Chennai Open 2011, Ten Sports will be the exclusive sports channel for tennis enthusiasts to catch live action of the only ATP World Tour 250 Tournament in India. The exciting player line-up for the 2011 event includes sixth ranked player in the ATP ranking, Tomas Berdych and defending champion Marin Cilic amongst others.
