SouthLive Networks Private Limited, a Kochi-based digital media house has started its new English news portal.
Southlive is also expected to come up with a web magazine, IP television and other services like e-business and would work as a synergy of print and audiovisual media.
The web portal covers everything newsworthy from South India and other parts of the country.
MP Basheer, Editor-in-Chief, SouthLive said, “SouthLive aims to emerge as one of India’s finest digital media business houses, spreading its arms to all five Southern states in a span of three years. In news, SouthLive will pursue original, responsible journalism that is deeply reported, thoroughly researched and beautifully told.”
Veteran journalist and former Editor-in-Charge of Tehelka Magazine is the current Executive Editor in charge of the English operations.
The company has started its Malayalam news portal way back in 2015. Now, the English news portal is available on www.en.southlive.in
NK Bhoopesh said, “We wish to call us a News Interactive and we will provide enough space for the content generated by our readers/ viewers equipped with new technologies currently transforming the global media. We are deeply committed to editorial independence by providing our journalists and writers with the kind of autonomy that is too often glossed over by the pressures of advertisers and investors.”
SouthLive Networks Private Limited is chaired by Dr. Sebastian Paul, a former member of the Press Council of India and Member of Parliament.
Apart from SouthLive, the News Interactive, the network plans to launch entertainment portals in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu. A Journalism Training Institute of global standards is also part of the project. Video news production unit is also in consideration.
