Marking a significant milestone in the digital evolution of Sikh religious broadcasting, TangoPlus Services Pvt. Ltd. today, on the auspicious occasion of “First Prakash Purab” of Shri Guru Granth Sahibji, announced the launch of Gurbani Tube, a dedicated digital platform designed exclusively for Gurbani and Sikh religious content. The launch comes in the Silver Jubilee Year of uninterrupted live telecast of Gurbani from Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, a pioneering initiative that completes 25 years on 30th November 2026.

Available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, Gurbani Tube offers devotees around the world a single destination to access live telecasts from major Gurdwaras, Sikh religious television channels, Gurbani Kirtan, Katha, Nitnem Banis, Hukamnama Sahib, Sikh history, documentaries, devotional music, educational content and special religious programming.

Developed by TangoPlus Services Pvt. Ltd., Gurbani Tube has been conceived as a dedicated content discovery platform that brings together Sikh religious content through an intuitive and easy-to-use interface. The platform has been created with the objective of preserving, promoting and propagating the teachings of the Sikh Gurus using modern digital technology.

A Legacy of Innovation

Gurbani Tube is the brainchild of Sardar Jagjit Singh Kohli, who was responsible for introducing the live telecast of Gurbani from Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar to millions of devotees across the world.

The historic initiative commenced on ETC Punjabi in November 2001 after years of sustained efforts and perseverance. It subsequently continued on PTC Punjabi, which too was incubated by Sardar Jagjit Singh Kohli during its formative years before its management was subsequently taken over by the Badal family.

The year 2026 marks the Silver Jubilee of uninterrupted live telecast of Gurbani from Sri Darbar Sahib, completing 25 years of continuous broadcasting on 30th November 2026—a landmark achievement in Sikh religious broadcasting that has enabled millions of devotees across the globe to experience the divine blessings of Sri Harmandir Sahib from their homes.

Addressing the media, Sardar Jagjit Singh Kohli said:

"It is a matter of immense happiness and satisfaction that after many years of dedicated effort, we have finally realised our dream of creating an independent digital platform devoted entirely to Gurbani and Sikhism. Our objective is to make the teachings and values of the Sikh Gurus easily accessible to devotees across the world, especially the younger generation, who increasingly engage with the world through digital platforms. If we wish to connect with today's generation, we must reach them through the technology they use every day."

Recalling the historic journey of live Gurbani telecast, he added:

"This year marks the Silver Jubilee of the commencement of live telecast of Gurbani from Sri Darbar Sahib. That initiative required years of perseverance, dedication and overcoming numerous challenges. Gurbani Tube is a natural extension of that journey into the digital era."

A Platform Built for the Global Sikh Community

Unlike general video streaming platforms where Sikh religious content is scattered across thousands of channels and videos, Gurbani Tube has been developed as a dedicated platform bringing together the entire Sikh digital ecosystem under one roof.

The platform currently provides access to:

  • Live telecasts from Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) and major Gurdwaras worldwide.
  • Live Sikh religious television channels.
  • Thousands of Gurbani Kirtans by renowned Ragis.
  • Extensive Katha libraries by respected Kathawachaks.
  • Nitnem Banis, Ardas and Hukamnama Sahib.
  • Sikh history, documentaries and educational content.
  • Gurpurab celebrations and special live events.
  • Curated devotional playlists and intelligent content discovery.

Whether living in Amritsar, London, Vancouver, Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur, Nairobi, Dubai or California, devotees can remain connected with their faith through a single trusted platform available anytime and anywhere.

TangoPlus Services said future versions of Gurbani Tube will include:

  • Android TV
  • Google TV
  • Apple TV
  • Amazon Fire TV
  • LG & Samsung Smart TV applications
  • Web access
  • AI-powered search across Shabads, Ragis and Kathawachaks
  • Daily Hukamnama notifications
  • Audio-only listening mode
  • Offline downloads for selected content
  • Multi-language interface for the global Sikh diaspora

Sardar Jagjit Singh Kohli concluded:

"Technology should not merely entertain—it should educate, inspire and strengthen our spiritual connection. Gurbani belongs to everyone. Our vision is that wherever a Sikh or a seeker of spiritual wisdom lives, they should be able to connect instantly with the divine message of the Guru through Gurbani Tube. This platform is our humble contribution towards preserving, promoting and propagating Sikhism and its timeless values for future generations."
