Sambit Mohanty joins McCann, Delhi as ECD
Mohanty moves from Bates, Delhi, where he was Creative Head
Sambit Mohanty has joined McCann, Delhi as Executive Creative Director. In his last assignment, Mohanty was Creative Head at Bates, Delhi. Starting out as a copywriter at McCann Erickson, Mohanty has worked in agencies such as Lowe, Publicis, Leo Burnett & Elephant Design.
Commenting on Mohanty’s appointment, Prasoon Joshi, Chief Executive Officer, McCann Worldgroup, said, “I have not worked with him earlier, but in my interactions with him I sensed that he brings in a unique dimension. It’s rare these days to find people with craft. Sambit has honed his craft and is a superb writer. I am positive that the creative prowess of McCann will get further strengthened with Sambit on board.”
As a Creative Director at Leo Burnett, he had created the ‘Full of Life’ launch campaign for the Chevrolet Spark that included the ‘winking car’ commercial. He was also behind the ‘Where’s the Pulp?’ campaign for Minute Maid Pulpy Orange, a juice drink from Coke. At Bates, he was instrumental in launching Max Bupa Health Insurance and also creating memorable work for Hitachi & Virgin Mobile among other brands.
Given his diverse experience, Mohanty has also helped build brands like Dettol, Mortein, Harpic (part of Reckitt-Benckiser), Tanishq, Britannia, Nestle (Maggi), HP, Indian Express, BBC World, Religare, and Chevrolet, among others. An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) Delhi, Mohanty has about 12 years’ experience in advertising and design.
