Rajdeep Mukherjee to head Pan Macmillan India
He will join the company on September 19. He will take over from Daniel Watts, Regional Director, India and Asia, whose two-year secondment to India ends in December
Pan Macmillan UK has announced the appointment of Rajdeep Mukherjee to the new position of Senior Vice President, Head of Pan Macmillan India. He will join the company on September 19, 2012.
Mukherjee is currently Sales and Marketing Director for Harvard Business School Publishing and was, until three years ago, Pan Macmillan's Sales and Marketing Manager for the Indian Sub-continent, a role he held for 11 years. He will take over from Daniel Watts, Regional Director, India and Asia, whose two-year secondment to India ends in December. A further announcement will follow in due course with news of Watt’s next move.
One of the top five publishers in India, Pan Macmillan India is one of the newest and fastest growing publishers in the country today. Set up in 1998, Pan Macmillan India began full scale publishing operations in India in August 2010. Prior to this, the company was distributing Pan Macmillan International titles in the Indian subcontinent along with its locally published titles under the Picador India imprint.
The company has now added Pan and Macmillan, two new imprints, to cover its local commercial fiction and non-fiction publishing. It is also the sales and distribution partner for Walker Books and Frances Lincoln Children's Books in the Indian subcontinent.
Anthony Forbes Watson, MD at Pan Macmillan UK, commented, “I'm delighted to welcome Rajdeep Mukherjee back to Pan Macmillan. Rajdeep brings great experience to the role as well as a deep understanding of Pan Macmillan. Over the last three years, Daniel Watts has laid the foundations for the next phase in Pan Macmillan India's development and Rajdeep has the right skill set to build on those foundations.”For more updates, be socially connected with us on
