Radio City celebrates 8th anniversary across India

It’s celebration time at Radio City as the FM station completes eight years in India. The station has carried forward its pledge to offer a melodious journey for listeners over the last eight years. Radio City stations across 20 markets will commemorate this occasion in great style along with listeners through a diverse array of interactive activities.

Apurva Purohit, CEO, Radio City, said, “Breaking through the clutter of monotony, Radio City has lived to its promise to offer listeners a truly enriching and differentiated musical experience, thus ensuring an instant connect with listeners nationwide.”

The Radio City team celebrated the station’s eighth anniversary through a grand bash in Mumbai on July 3, 2009. The FM brand gave away the national ‘Radio City Annual Awards 2009 – City ka Sitara’ and Sitara Station in recognition of excellence and outstanding contribution across functions. The Radio City Anthem, composed by Ray & Brother Hood Band, was also launched at the same time.

Radio City Mumbai will celebrate the great bash by revolving their content around the number ‘8’, the station will also host innovative theme contests. Mumbai’s Radio Cityzens will get to hear eight request songs on every show starting with ‘Kasa Kai Mumbai’, ‘Mumbai Masala’, ‘Hum Tum’ and ‘Joyride’. Listeners will also get a chance to win prizes ranging from electronics to expensive gift vouchers.

Extending the Anniversary celebrations to listeners, Radio City stations in Pune, Ahmedabad, Surat, Baroda, Nagpur and Ahmednagar will celebrate Happy ‘Eight’ hours, where they can spin the fortune wheel on air and can answer three questions asked by the RJs on each show and win prizes every hour.

Aggressively looking at spreading the Radio City experience across the country, the FM station is committed to growing the market and creating superlative content for premium audiences.
