Online news photo agency Fotocorp turns 10

Mumbai-based online news photo agency Fotocorp recently completed 10 years in the market. To mark the occasion, the agency has launched a new site design with updated search features. Fotocorp claims to now have a rich bank of over 300,000 editorial images.

Launched on World Photography Day in 2004, Fotocorp News Photo Agency is the brainchild of photo-journalist Shailesh Mule. The agency provides pictures across the news spectrum – from business and Bollywood to fashion, lifestyle, sports and politics – to leading newspapers, magazines and websites in India and across the globe.

Fotocorp is a subscription-based agency, which also undertakes commissioned photo assignments for editorials, advertising agencies, corporate houses and entertainment events, both locally as well as internationally.

“To mark the occasion, we have launched a Retro section with vintage images of Bollywood, politics and other segments,” said Shailesh Mule, adding that thousands of images are uploaded every month on the agency’s website.

The Retro section features rare archival images, providing original content and greater choice to the subscribers. “The dynamic new features that have been introduced on the Fotocorp website provide better navigation, easier access to pictures and faster downloading,” Mule added.
