Bipin R Pandit’s Khumaar Musical Nite to celebrate 100 years of Rafisaab

Bipin R Pandit’s Khumaar Musical Nite is scheduled for Saturday, 21^st September 2024, at 4pm at St, Andrews Auditorium Bandra.

This is the 19^th year of Khumaar. It happens to be the centenary year of Mohammed Rafi Saab. Khumaar will showcase eight singers, five of whom are from cities other than Mumbai.

Bipin R Pandit is instituting a Mohammed Rafi Award that will be presented to a playback singer, lyricist or a music director every year.

The first award will be presented to the late and great Mahendra Kapoor who was a true disciple of Rafi Saab and a legendary singer of the golden era of music. His son Ruhaan Kapoor, who is a film actor and singer of merit, has agreed to receive the award.

Khumaar as always will be unique in its style of presentation and segmentation of songs. The choice of songs has always been the highlight of the show. The show has already generated lots of interest and has created a huge buzz.

Founder and Organiser of Khumaar, Bipin R Pandit, said: “As an organiser and performer, nothing gives me more satisfaction than a full house show. It is not easy to fill an auditorium that has a capacity of 1000, the fact that it has happened year after year bears testimony to the love that the audience has for Khumaar. It will be a delight to present the first Mohammed Rafi Saab Award to the late and legendary Mahendra Kapoor whose son Ruhaan will do the honors of accepting the same. All attendants must watch out for the presentation of the show and the segmentation. The Khumaar team is eagerly awaiting to perform.”
