It further said, “This would be a ready reckoner for all members or non-members and all media in general to know what BEA is doing. All our press releases would be available on this website. We would add other features as we go along.”

In websites’ ‘about us’ section, the editors defined their objectives as - “We deem it our collective role to raise the bar of journalism and strive to protect the freedom of expression. As the broadcast industry is new in India, norms have to evolve, functionaries need to be trained, content required to be made credible and constructive and steps taken for broadcast media to thrive in a free and fair environment.”

“This purpose can be achieved only when the editors band together in pursuit of this noble objective and institutionalise collective thinking. The launch of a forum of broadcast editors-Broadcast Editors Association (BEA) is the first step in this direction,” it noted.
