5th year going! An idea takes root

It was back in 2006 that the journey of Goafest began in the golden sands of Goa. This annual extravaganza which is for-the-industry, by-the-industry and to-the-industry, concentrated on not just recognising good work that can then go on to compete in international advertising festivals, but also on sharing knowledge and learnings along with fun with the advertising fraternity.

5th year going! An idea takes root

It was back in 2006 that the journey of Goafest began in the golden sands of Goa. This annual extravaganza which is for-the-industry, by-the-industry and to-the-industry, concentrated on not just recognising good work that can then go on to compete in international advertising festivals, but also on sharing knowledge and learnings along with fun with the advertising fraternity.

Come April, and the clear waters of Goa mirror our creative performance. It’s about nothing else but great ideas, brilliantly executed. More marketers are attending the festival than ever before. Besides, there’s no other industry festival that’s held in such a relaxed yet challenging environment. It’s a happy mix of excitement and nervous anticipation before the awards. All delegations who attend Goafest, come back well informed, motivated and energised. It’s the destination to be. One can feel the sense of being part of this exciting profession.

Year after year we have focused on delivering the best to the fraternity. High-profile seminars, workshops, keynote speakers from across the globe at Goafest; makes it a worthwhile experience for participants. Every year we ensure that an eminent jury is appointed to carefully judge entries and reward the best. Goafest is renowned for its ability to draw a quorum of the “right” people from the industry. But what really distinguishes this event is its high degree of like-minded talent participation, which gives it its distinctive balance.

Goafest has acquired a permanent place in the Indian calendar and Ad agencies actually plan their lives around this festival. Most advertising and media agencies come together to show off their best work with the hope of winning accolades for the sweat-n-blood put into each creation. Most agencies come forward not just to participate in the awards but to put the entire event together.

Industry stalwarts come forth to work on this event for the love of the profession. It is our way of giving back to the line of work. No agency makes any money by participating and spending precious executive time and resources. It is all for the pride of knowing that you have contributed. Contributed in making India’s largest intellectual and information exchange in the world of Advertising & Media.
