Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani made some key announcements regarding Reliance Jio’s launch in his address at the 42nd Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries last week.
“We Indians have come to appreciate and applaud Gandhigiri; now we can all do Datagiri, which is an opportunity for every Indian to do unlimited good things, with unlimited data,” Ambani told shareholders.
Reliance Industries has officially announced that it will offer services at substantially lower rates than the rivals. Ambani said Reliance Jio will start offering service from September 5 and will be launched commercially on December 31. RIL’s maiden plan will offer data at Rs 50 per GB, which is lowest in the world.
“The world's demand for Digital oxygen, that is data, is growing explosively. Jio's mission is to meet this exploding need for India, and to take our nation from data shortage to data abundance. And to enable a digital life for a Digital India,” he said.
While it may seem early days to comment but the Apple-like queues witnessed in the "Jio Preview Offer"
