SonyLIV to undergo revamp?
The live streaming platform is said to be in the process of rolling out a new visual identity and re-branding itself after Danish Khan took charge as the Business Head
Post Danish Khan taking over as the Business Head of SonyLIV, the OTT platform is gearing up to rebrand and unveil a new visual identity, sources close to the development have shared with exchange4media.
“The channel is all set to go through a revamp and there are plans to unveil a refreshed visual identity to up the freshness and fun quotient and ensure it looks like an OTT platform’s logo as opposed to a TV channel visual identity,” shared the source.
exchange4media reached out to SonyLIV for a comment but couldn’t elicit a response until the time of filing this story.
It was announced earlier this month that Khan, an old hand at SPN, will assume the role of Business Head of SPN’s digital business, replacing Uday Sodhi, who quit the company to pursue entrepreneurial passion in the start-up space. Sodhi was the man behind the introduction of SonyLIV's subscription model, SonyLIV's re-launch and the international launch of subscriptions.
In July 2019, the live streaming platform announced its entry into the Middle East, where it will offer content for the local audience and the South-Asian diaspora in the region. Countries, including UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, will have access to over 70 popular shows from Sony Pictures Network India’s content library and over 1,500 movies.
