Screenage: Vistara’s Sachin Khaire shares ways to make the most of AI in apps

At exchange4media’s mobile marketing conference Screenage 2019, Sachin Khaire, Principle Architect, Vistara -Tata Sia Airlines Limited, shared interesting insights on using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) along with keeping a human-centred approach. He was speaking on the topic, ‘App augmented: Making the most of AI in apps’,

Khaire talked about how Vistara is making the most of AI in its apps. "For us, technology is like a puzzle. When we look at technology from the point of view of consumers, we get to benefit directly, which we can transfer into the cost or monetary cycle," he said.

Explaining his point, he said, “We see how we can use a voice bot, which can help us improve the customer experience; and how we can use voice boards, which can help us improve our employee experience. We can have a lot of data sets, which employers can access just by voice queries.”

Khaire said they look at the technology in a way that can help them as well as their customers. "We look at technology in a way that it can create maximum good for us as well as our customers," he emphasised.

He said Vistara is very proud of being the “first company to launch aviation robot in India. The robot is available at Terminal 3 of Vistara Lounge, Delhi.”

Furthermore, he revealed that they're working to come up with more improvements to make a robotic entertainment zone that will have a robots serving food and performing a lot of other activities too.

Talking about Vistara's plan to make the aviation sector more user-friendly with the help of AI, Khaire shared they are making hard efforts, and within the next year, all their flights will be biometric-enabled.

Despite being a new entrant, Vistara is leading a lot of innovation activities in the area of aviation, he emphasised.

Taking the session ahead, Khaire talked about the need and usage of mobility in the aviation industry. He told that Vistara is using mobility for security purpose, e-learning and talent development.

“With the help of technology, we are also using multiple mobile apps such as EFB, Electronic Flight Books,” he said.

“We're using a lot of mobile solutions for improving our direct channel of payments. We're offering one-stop service through our movie applications. So people do not need to go to agents or other websites to compare the price or services.
Vistara started the journey of innovative activities four years back and now we probably leading most of the innovations in the airlines sector and we're quite proud of," he concluded.
