Online fitness startup FITNAPP raises funds from SD Group
The mobile fitness marketplace will use the funds for online expansion, marketing, and technology

The mobile fitness marketplace FITNAPP has raised pre-series A round of funding from SD Group, a leading name in real estate, education, and international trading.
Conceptualized and founded by Akshay Jhinga in 2015, FITNAPP creates a platform for users to discover and purchase fitness services from gyms and fitness centers around them. The app also offers fitness products such as supplements, equipment and gadgets such as fitness bands.
The Delhi-NCR based startup venture by the young entrepreneur restyles and transforms people’s workout regimen by providing them access to numerous fitness classes, groups, and activities, across a range of cities, all under one fitness membership. The service comes at an affordable price scale, and with deep personalization to suit the lifestyles of the users through flexi-pricing models.
FITNAPP will utilize the funds raised to expand its assistance-oriented service segment that requires customization and enhancement for each individual user.
“FITNAPP services are currently available as an app on Google Play Store and on App Store. As of today, we have partnered with over 1,500 gyms and fitness studios in Delhi-NCR. The platform has monthly subscription plans to suit all range of pocket sizes, and offers users a single window for all its partner gyms, fitness studios, and activity centers. We currently have a team of 20. The platform projects acquiring 100,000 users in 12 months,?” said Jhinga.
FITNAPP has created its own niche in the fitness market through its innovative approach and services which helped it get into strategic alliances with brands such as Uber, Ola, Shopclues, Mobikwik, and Zomato etc., which offer benefits to clients across different company verticals.
Commenting on the recent funding, Jhinga added, “The company will use the funds for online expansions, increasing the number of associations, partners, and marketing. Also, in the next one year, FITNAPP plans to infuse funds into technology and roll out new, highly personalized fitness management tools for users. The company also aims to scale up its operation and expand into new geographical footprints. We are on track and getting a good response from the app users. We will continue to focus on building a profitable and sustainable business in the long term for us and our partners”.
SD Group, which is based out of Noida and headed by D P Das, will play to their respective strategic strengths and technical and marketing expertise that concerns the fitness segment, developing exciting products and services for the benefit of subscribers.
Sanjay K Baliase of SD Group has got associated with FITNAPP as Director and brings with him 22 years f experience and insight in sales and marketing. Baliase said, “With our team of alumni from IIM and IIT, we are making FITNAPP a holistic platform to provide 360 degree services in health, beauty, and fitness which includes dietitians, physiotherapist, trainers at home, fitness experts that provide tailor-made fitness solutions to users and ‘FITNAPP-approved fitness centers’ to provide exclusive services to the users. In addition to providing access to the entire galaxy of fitness centers, healthcare foods, supplements, gadgets, and equipment are also available on the platform.”
