According to media reports, digital payments entity, Mobikwik, will see yet another top level exit with Daman Soni, who headed the marketing and growth quitting the company.
Earlier in the year, their chief business officer, Vineet Singh, parted ways in April. Soni joined Mobikwik in 2016 to push growth for the company. While the company has grown, the pace has been significantly slow than its peers. Soni is said to be looking at fresh opportunities in the mobile technology space.
Others who left Mobikwik are Rukaiya Rangwala, who quit in April this year and Vivek Sinha who quit in May. Rangwala was heading payment gateway business at Mobikwik and Sinha was the head of retail business.
The Gurgaon-based mobile wallet company has recently gone live on UPI with its own ‘ikwik’ handle and is looking for means to expand its digital payments business. With players like Paytm and PhonePe competing in the same space, Bajaj Finance backed Mobikwik has been fighting a pitched battle to retain market share against players with deep pockets. Paytm is supported by Alibaba and Softbank while PhonePe is supported by Walmart.
