Know your network – Hula

There’s dozens of social networks in the world today. They’re doing different things, and have different reach. Some of the networks might not even look like a social network if you’re just thinking about Facebook, but that’s exactly what Wikipedia is too, when you think about it.

Continuing with the series titled ‘Know Your Network’, exchange4media seeks to present the known and not so known social networks from around the world.

Hula – An open source mail and calendar project created in 2005 by Novell, the company behind the famous NetWare software. Based on the existing NetMail program, the network allows sharing of appointments right from your inbox, but since then the network started to stagnate, and its future remains unclear, though the open source nature meant that others used it as a base to develop new technologies.
