EU slaps Google with €2.95 bn for anti-competitive practices in adtech business

Google has been fined €2.95 billion ($3.45 billion) by the European Union for anti-competitive practices in its adtech business, marking the fourth penalty the tech giant has faced in its decade-long battle with EU regulators.

The move comes amid heightened trade tensions between global powers and growing U.S. unease over Europe’s scrutiny of American tech companies.

As per media reports, US President Donald Trump has called the decision “unfair”.
