New India is the aspirational India, an India that is confident about wanting more, building more, and becoming more.

As we celebrate Independence Day, this transformation is visible not just in our economy or technology, but in the way young Indians think about their lives, careers, communities, and possibilities.

I am Jyotiraditya Thakur, founder of Bhag Club, a modern-age run club and a creative hub where brands can showcase their work and connect with a young, energetic community. I am building this journey alongside my entrepreneurial-spirited friend Krishbir Singh.

What makes it particularly meaningful is that we went to college together.

A few years ago, I could never have imagined that two friends who studied together, went their separate ways after college, and built their individual journeys would come back together to create a venture and turn that friendship into a business.

But that, to me, is New India.

It is an India where relationships become partnerships, ideas become enterprises, and ambition becomes action.

Bhag Club is a small reflection of this larger change. Running is no longer just about fitness. Modern run clubs are becoming communities, cultural spaces, and platforms for brands to participate in people’s lives. Bhag Club brings together fitness, creativity, community, and brands in a way that reflects the lifestyle of a new generation.

This is a revolution in fitness, but also a business opportunity. Around this new consumer behaviour are emerging opportunities in sportswear, footwear, wellness, technology, content, events, hospitality, and brand experiences.

And then there is AI.

Back in our college days, when AI was beginning to make its breakthrough, many people were hesitant, even scared, to use it. Krishbur and I were among those who chose to experiment early. We believed the advantage would belong to those who understood the technology rather than feared it.

Today, AI has become part of our everyday lives, from day-to-day tasks to creativity, communication, business, and decision-making.

But for young India, the real opportunity is not merely to use AI. It is to use AI to build something tangible.

That entrepreneurial mindset is one of the defining characteristics of New India.

A young Indian today can access technology, information, and global markets in ways that were unimaginable a generation ago. The barriers are coming down. The ambition is rising.

This is why I believe New India is the aspirational India.

It is an India that wants better experiences, better businesses, better health, better technology, and a better quality of life. It is an India that is willing to learn from the world while building its own identity.

For me and Krishbir, our journey from college friends to business partners is a small example of this larger movement.

We studied together. We went our separate ways. We learned. We experimented. We came back together. And now we are building.

That is the spirit of young India.

Independence gave us the freedom to dream. New India is giving a generation the confidence to turn those dreams into businesses, communities, and realities.

This Independence Day, that is the India I celebrate.

An aspirational India. An entrepreneurial India. An India that is not waiting for the future but building it. Jai hind!
