Digital Marketing Training Institute appoints Deepti Jalota as CEO

Digital Marketing Training Institute (DMTI), a consortium of digital marketers and professionals, has announced the appointment of Deepti Jalota, as its new CEO. Rashmi Putcha, the current CEO, moves up to join the DMTI Board Directors.

Jalota, who will be reporting to the Board, will be based out of Gurgaon.  Her core responsibilities will be to look after growth of DMTI in markets, beyond India.

Welcoming her, Rashmi Putcha said, “We are happy that Deepti has come on board. Being a prolific sales player with over 14 years of senior level multi-functional experience in digital as well as traditional media companies, we are sure she brings in a lot of value to the table. We hope she will help spread DMTI foot print beyond India.”

Acknowledging the new assignment Deepti commented, “I am thrilled to join DMTI and I hope I will be worthy of the confidence reposed in me by the management. I look forward to exciting times as the Institute grows by leaps and bounds.”

Jalota worked with companies such as Mogae Media, Microsoft, Yahoo and Crayons Advertising. Her expertise lies in digital ad sales and also integrated communications and strategy.

At Microsoft, where she had a three-year stint as National Category Manager, she was responsible for the digital media sales for assets like MSN and Windows Live. Jalota won the 'Share Fighter' and 'Can Do' awards at Microsoft, which she considers the high points of her innings at the company. 

Jalota’s career in advertising began in the year 2000 when she joined FCB Ulka as a trainee after completing her MBA in marketing. She has also spent three years with Yahoo India, where she led online advertising sales and brand efforts. After Microsoft, she was with Mogae as VP sales and handled the Airtel mobile advertising monetisation from their Gurgaon office post which she moved to Africa for a short time. She understands digital technologies that are affecting organisations and she has helped brands like Samsung, Coca-cola and Dominos to innovate and incorporate digital and mobile media in their advertising plans.

She also has a track record of building and training multi-disciplinary digital teams in MNCs as well as start-ups. Deepti recently established her own in-house ethnic women brand 'sanjoli', purely through Social media, reaching out to women who love to buy ethnic products from Rajasthan. Through this endeavour, she has helped many small women entrepreneurs become not only social media savvy but doing business from the comfort of their homes.
