Cannes Lions 2018: Here's What's Happening On Day 3

There will be shortlists in seven categories, compelling sessions and awards in seven categories

It’s Day 3 already at the French Riviera! India has bagged a Grand Prix for Good, one gold, two silver and four bronze Lions so far. While India’s roar is a tad feeble for now, we are hoping that over the next three days India will muster up a Royal roar. Awards in 20 categories will be announced over the next three days.

Shortlists in Product Design, Creative Data, Social&Influencer, PR, Direct, Media, and Film Lions will be out on Wednesday. Watch this space for news about the Indian agencies that make the cut.

Of the sessions which will take place on Day 3, we are looking forward to hearing Ogilvy India’s Group Chief Creative Officer & Vice Chairman, Sonal Dabral join John Mescall, Global Executive Creative Director, McCann Worldgroup, Malcolm Poynton, Global Chief Creative Officer, Cheil Worldwide, Chaka Sobhani, Chief Creative Officer, Leo Burnett London discussing if Advertising Has Lost its Sense of Humour. The session will be chaired by Emma Wilkie, MD, The Gunn Report.

We don’t want to miss ‘Founders’ Formula: Pioneering for Purposeful Growth’ where Keith Weed, CMO, Unilever, discusses how a ‘founder’s mindset’ is the secret to success. With over 100 years of progress and a raft of new founders of acquired brands still growing their businesses within Unilever, Weed examines the business model of the future. The session will answer questions like : What does creativity look like in a changing consumer world? What does marketing in segments of one look like? How does creativity win?

There’s more of Keith Weed on Day 3. He along with Carolyn Everson, VP Marketing Solutions, Facebook and Evgeny Morozov, Journalist, Independent will debate whether tech giants support open societies or are they a threat to them? Zanny Minton Beddoes, Editor-in-Chief of The Economist, will chair the session.

The day with end with an award ceremony to recognise the best in the Film Craft, Digital Craft, Industry Craft, Entertainment, Entertainment for Music, Brand Activation, and Creative eCommerce Lions.
