Senthil Kumar, Chief Creative Officer, JWT India, a big winner at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in 2009, 2014 is now on the jury for the coveted Film Lions category.

Having won India’s first and second Gold Lions in Film and Film Craft categories in 2009 for the film ‘A Day in The Life of Chennai’ created to launch the Times Of India in Tamil Nadu, and set a record of winning seven Cannes Lions for the Nike Film ‘Make Every Yard Count’ in 2014 across Film Lions, Film Craft Lions, Cyber Lions and India’s first Mobile Lions, Kumar says he prays every year India must hunt down many Gold Lions and Grand Prix’ and work hard to ensure that JWT India has at least a few Cannes Lions in the bag every year.

Talking about his parameters for judging entries in the Film Lions category he says, "Film Lions are the toughest category to judge because of the large number of entries and this year it’s bigger than ever. I have already started the online judging process and judged at least a 1000 Cannes contenders in film and spent hours watching and judging long online films over the last 03 weeks of shortlisting entries for the final round of judging at Cannes. The parameters are the same every year. The Idea has to be Original. The execution has to be awe inspiring or simply mind blowing. And the craft has to be exceptional and move your vote up for that sheer eye for detail. Without these three aspects, no film will make it to the shortlist in my book. The scores vary from 1-3 (surely not a shortlist) 4-6 (probably a shortlist candidate ) right up to 7-9 ( definitely a shortlist candidate and possibly a winner)."
