31 Indian entries in Press Lions shortlist
DDB Mudra, Leo Burnett, O&M, BBH, BBDO and Publicis are the contenders in Press Lions with 31 pieces in all shortlisted
India has put up a promising show in the Press Lions Category. Thirty one pieces out of a total of 266 entries submitted have made it to the shortlist. India had 19 pieces shortlisted in this category last year.
DDB Mudra Group is leading in this category with 10 shortlists in all. Its campaign on Geebees Beverages has fetched five shortlists with entries ‘Great Fire Of London, New York Blackout, Armenian Internet Shutdown’ nominated in various categories. Three shortlists are entries titled ‘Elvis, JFK, Roswell’ for Stedfast and two more for entries titled ‘Deer, Tree’ for Volkswagen.
Leo Burnett’s campaign for Bajaj Electricals seems to have swept the show. The agency has eight nominations in total, all for the same campaign under different categories. The entries entered under this campaign are titled ‘Fish, Eggs, Cigarette, Socks’.
Ogilvy & Mather has six shortlists in total. Three of these are entries titled ‘Barbed Wire, Nails, Electric Shock’ for Perfetti Van Melle and three are entries titled ‘Refrigerator, Drawers, Sofa’ for Mattel Toys.
BBDO India has got four of its works in the Press Lions shortlist. These include its work titled ‘AK-47, Nuclear Reactor’ for White Collar Hippies and ‘Box Cuboid, Box Triangle’ for DHL.
Publicis has two of its entries in the shortlist this year. These are its entries titled ‘William Shakespeare, Arthur Conan Doyle’ for Bookstalk Audiobooks.
BBH India has also got one of its works ‘Vaseline Bat’ for Hindustan Unilever shortlisted in Press Lions.
The number of entries submitted by Indian agencies remained almost same with 266 entries submitted as compared to 267 last year.
Khai Meng Tham, Worldwide Chief Creative Officer, Ogilvy & Mather is the Jury President for Press Lions while Raj Kamble, Former Chief Creative Officer, BBH India is on the Jury from India.
The Press & Outdoor competition was introduced in 1992. Since 2002, the Festival has recognised Press and Outdoor as separate advertising media, awarding each their own Grand Prix. 6056 entries from 72 countries are competing in this category this year.
