WBSTC offers ad rights on 130 buses in Kolkata

The West Bengal Surface Transport Corporation (WBSTC) Limited, has invited sealed bids from competent agencies and companies, offering advertising rights on its fleet of buses. These advertising rights will be awarded for approx 130 buses, which comprise of 30 AC Volvo and 100 ultra low floor AC buses.

IRS Q2 2010: No surprises in Urdu publications; Inquilab, Siasat hold top positions

As per the IRS Q2 2010 results, Urdu daily Inquilab is the top publication in the domain, registering a growth of 3.76 per cent in AIR (Average Issue Readership). While top two dailies have witnessed growth in AIR, Urdu Times, which is ranked fourth, has seen a negative growth of 17.24 per cent.

IRS Q2 2010: Oriya publications take the de-growth route

As per the IRS Q2 2010 results announced on August 23, 2010, among Oriya dailies, Sambad takes the lead, followed by Samaj, while among Oriya magazines, The Saptahik Samaya is on top. However, the publications have seen a massive de-growth trend with six of the eight Oriya publications showing decline.

IRS 2010 Q2: No joy for Assamese publications as AIRs continue to decline

The IRS 2010 Q2 data shows a decline trend for all Assamese publications. Neither the dailies nor the magazines could record positive growth. The Average Issue Readership (AIR) of Assamese dailies declined by 5.65 per cent over the last quarter. Asomiya Pratidin remains the top Assamese publication.

IRS Q2 2010: Mixed bag for Malayalam publications; some dailies see growth, all magazines drop

It was a mixed bag of growth and decline for Malayalam dailies as per the IRS Q2 2010 results. Among the Malayalam dailies, Malayala Manorama, while maintaining its pole position, has registered a 2.69 per cent growth in its Average Issue Readership (AIR). However, the AIR of Mathrubhumi and almost all Malayalam magazines have dropped.

IRS Q2 2010: Top Bengali dailies put up a good show; but periodicals show signs of fatigue

The IRS Q2 2010 data for Bengali publications shows the top three dailies recording positive growth in AIR (Average Issue Readership) over the previous quarter. Five of the Top 10 Bengali dailies have recorded positive AIR growths. However, the AIR of Bengali dailies declined by 0.72 per cent on an average over the last quarter.

As per the IRS Q2 2010 results, the top three Gujarati dailies have received positive growth in AIR (Average Issue Readership) as against the IRS Q1 2010 data. Gujarat Samachar leads the pack with an AIR of 5,218,000. Gujarati periodicals, too, have seen positive growth.

IRS Q2 2010: Daily Thanthi shows growth amid declining AIRs among Tamil publications

The Indian Readership Survey (IRS) Q2 2010 data for Tamil publications shows market leader Daily Thanthi recording a marginal growth, even as the Average Issue Readership (AIR) of other Tamil dailies and magazines has dropped. Daily Thanthi leads the Tamil dailies with an AIR of 7,402,000 in this round. The AIR of both Dinakaran and Dinamalar has dropped.

According to the IRS Q2 2010 data, the Top 10 Hindi dailies continue to witness a see-saw of growths and declines in Average Issue Readership (AIR). Dainik Jagran has topped the list of Top 10 Hindi dailies. Hindustan is the only paper among the top three dailies to have witnessed a positive growth of 2.31 per cent in AIR in Q2.

IRS Q2 2010: Business dailies put up a decent show; magazines still fighting it out

According to IRS Q2 2010 data, two out of the five business dailies whose numbers have been released show a decline in readership. The Economic Times, the country’s leading business publication, has maintained a considerable lead with an Average Issue Readership (AIR) of 753,000, and yet is a 0.92 per cent dip over the previous quarter.

IRS Q2 2010: HT continues lead in Delhi & Delhi NCR; negative growth for top 2 players

In the Delhi and NCR regions, Hindustan Times has maintained its lead to once again emerge as the strongest player in the market, as per the Indian Readership Survey (AIR) Q2 2010 results. Close rivals, The Times of India, holds ground at number two position. However, the top two players, in both Delhi and Delhi NCR region, recorded a negative growth in readership figures. The English newspaper market in Delhi showed a negative growth of 3.85 per cent whereas the Delhi NCR region recorded a negative growth of 3.08 per cent.

IRS Q2 2010: Decline trend continues to plague magazines; top order remains unchanged

The last few rounds of the Indian Readership Survey (IRS) have seen magazines facing a decline trend and the latest round is no different. Barring one magazine, all other Top 10 magazines have shown no signs of growth. Also, there has been change in the ranking of the Top 10 magazines, however Vanitha and Saras Salil continue to lead among magazines.

The Indian Readership Survey (IRS) Q2 2010 results have shown no major changes in the top dailies in the country. Dainik Jagran and Dainik Bhaskar continue to lead the pack. There is no change seen in the order of the top five publications even as there are changes in the readership figures. Four of the Top 10 dailies have seen decline in readership in this quarter.
