IT sector advertising in print saw a growth of 39 per cent during January-June 2010, as compared to January-June 2009. Laptops/ notebooks category contributed for more than half of the overall IT sector advertising in print during this period. Dell Computer Corporation was the number one advertiser.
RAM data for Week 31 shows Radio Mirchi continuing its lead in the Mumbai market in the morning slot between 7 am and 11 am. The FM station had a 17.5 per cent market share. Placed second was Red FM, which secured a market share of 14.9 per cent, while Radio City followed with a market share of 13.9 per cent.
Spread over two days on August 12-13, a total 66 case studies have been presented at Emvies 2010. This year, a record 397 entries had been received. Prabhat Khabar launched its Ranchi edition in all colour on 14 August 2010, the day of its 26th anniversary. With this development, newspaper war in Jharkhand seems to have intensified, since this development came just before the proposed launch of Dainik Bhaskar, scheduled for 22 August 2010. Prabhat Khabar is also planning to upgrade Jharkhand editions at Jamshedpur & Dhanbad to increase the colour pages.
One of the biggest news earlier this year was Colgate Palmolive aligning its media duties with MEC (earlier known as Mediaedge:cia), and then some time back the company realigned its creative business, and parked it out of Rediffusion Group into Bates 141.
