Stand-up comedian and founder of comedy collective All India Bakchod (AIB) Tanmay Bhat has decided to ‘step away from his association with AIB’, according to a statement issued by the company.

This happened following sexual harassment allegations that have surfaced against comedian Utsav Chakrabarty who was once associated with AIB. The comedy group said in the statement, “We cannot overlook Tanmay Bhatt’s role and in light of this he will be stepping away from his association with AIB until further notice. This implies that Tanmay will not be involved with the day-to-day functioning of AIB or in any other manner.”

The statement also mentioned that “in the interim, Ashish Shakya, Rohan Joshi and other senior team members will work towards being able to answer questions over the next several months.”
