Godrej Consumer Products CMO Kapil Pillai Steps Down
He was appointed as the CMO for the GCPL India business in February 2017 and has worked at GCPL for over 14 years.
Godrej Consumer Products Limited Marketing Head, Kapil Pillai, has stepped down from his position. He was appointed as the CMO for the GCPL India business in February 2017. GCPL confirmed Pillai’s move, noting that his position now lies vacant.
Prior to being appoint the CMO of GCPL India, Pillai was Managing Director & CEO of Godrej South Africa for nearly three years. Pillai joined GCPL for the first time in 2004 as General Manager - Sales & Customer Service, Godrej SaraLee Limited.
He rose up the ranks over the last 14 years serving in multiple leadership roles, particularly in marketing. He was VP Marketing for the Hair Care and Fabric Care Business between 2012 and 2014. Between 2010 and 2012 he was leading marketing initiatives for the home care (Household Insecticides and Fabric Care) business.
Pillai began his career in 1996 as a Regional Sales Manager for Reckitt & Colman (now Reckitt Benckiser).
