Shopclues makes a surprise entry in BARC's Top 10 Brands
While Amazon, Myntra and Snapdeal fail to make it to BARC’s Top 10 Brands, online retail firm Shopclues enters the list at fourth spot
BARC’s Top 10 Brands Across Genres list for the fourth week of 2017’s viewership and ad insertions data (January 21-27) didn’t see any of the heavyweights of the ecommerce sector (Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal) in it. On the other hand, another online retail player Shopclues and Amazon India’s streaming service Amazon Prime Video India entered the chart at fourth and eighth spots with 7878 and 6428 insertions, respectively.
Meanwhile, Patanjali emerged strong at the second spot in both Top 10 Brands list and Top 10 Advertiser list.
Vodafone Superhour climbed up the ladder and led the category with 12,269 insertions.
Patanjali Range of Products entered the list at second spot putting in 8689 insertions.
Fogg Scent slipped to third spot with 7956 insertions.
Other entrants to the lists include Horlicks, OLX.in and Asian Paints Apex Ultima Protex at fifth, sixth and tenth spots with 7571, 6756 and 6115 insertions respectively.
Maruti Suzuki’s model Ignis and Surf Excel Easy Wash slipped to seventh and ninth spots with 6450 and 6375 insertions respectively.
In the Top 10 Advertisers list, FMCG firm Hindustan Lever continued to lead with 97,428 insertions. Meanwhile Patanjali Ayurved stepped up to the second spot 38,886. On the other hand Reckitt Benckiser India slipped to third spot with 35,481 insertions.
Cadbury India held on to its fourth spot with 25,138 insertions.
Smithkline Beecham and Brooke Bond Lipton India Ltd moved up to fifth and sixth spots with 23,685 and 19,166 insertions, respectively.
Procter & Gamble and Pond’s India slipped to seventh and ninth spots with 18,877 and 18,340 insertions respectively.
Super Cassettes Industries returned to the list at the eighth spot with 18,804 insertions.
ITC Ltd again stood at the tenth position with 17444 insertions.
