Piyush Pandey has been awarded the Padma Bhushan posthumously. President Droupadi Murmu honoured the advertising icon at the Civil Investiture Ceremony-I held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The award was received by his wife, Neeta Joshi.

Pandey is often hailed as the "Godfather of Indian Advertising."

He joined Ogilvy in 1982, and in an ad world dominated by English then he introduced new facets of modern India with creations like 'Kuch Khaas Hai Zindagi Mein' for Cadbury Dairy Milk, Asian Paints' 'Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai', the ZooZoo characters for Vodafone, and the 'Do Boond Zindagi Ke' Polio Abhiyaan. These were not merely advertisements. They were moments in the lives of ordinary Indians.
