As we enter another bustling week filled with festivities and the excitement of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024, we look back at some ads that got our attention.
Advertisers pulled out all stops, ramping up their efforts to capture attention and engage audiences. This season of celebration and sportsmanship offers a prime opportunity for brands to showcase their creativity and connect with consumers on an emotional level.
From heartwarming campaigns celebrating traditions to spirited promotions rallying support for teams, this week’s ads reflect the vibrant energy of the season.
Poora Fan Bano with Dream 11
Dream11 launched an ad for ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 with Rohit Sharma, Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, and Jemimah Rodrigues. The ad is accompanied by the tagline “This T20 World Cup, go all-in with your support for the #WomenInBlue.” The spot aims to give female-led sports its deserved attention, especially from cricket fans who equate cricket with the men's team. The underlying message is that unless you also support the women's cricket team, you are not a complete fan. The campaign #PooraFanBano reiterates this thought. The ad is humorous and great with brand placement so it's a hit in our books.
Khoobsurat Soch with JSW Paints
JSW Paints' "Khoobsurat Soch" campaign encourages Indian homeowners to view their homes as an extension of their personal stories. The ad starring Alia Bhatt and Ayushmann Khuranna, inspires viewers to embrace their creativity, positioning JSW Paints as the ideal partner in transforming their imaginative ideas into reality. The ad is memorable and is elevated by Alia and Ayushmann's performances. So it's a hit.
Vivel India
ITC Vivel's latest ad celebrates the emotional connection sparked by a soft touch, blending the product promise of soft skin with the magic it creates. The "Komalta Aisi, Jadoo Jaisi" campaign highlights the emotions within relationships, promoting Vivel Aloe Vera soap. But in all honesty if you don't see the last 7-10 second of the ad you'll think it's a body and face lotion or a hand cream ad. The ad didn't work well in terms of product placement and even with a great storyline missed the mark.
McDonalds India’s Shordaar Crunch
McDonalds India launched their McCrispy Chicken and Veggie burger with a fun ad that sandwiches humour with some deliciously crunchy auditory effects. The bite-sized ads highlights the crispiness of the new burgers by implying that even astronauts can hear the crunch in outerspace, creating a sense of gustatory appeal for the listener. With their tagline “Taste the Shordaar crunch at a McDonald's near you today” and their hashtag #ShordaarCrunch, They have done a convincing job of creating an intrigue around the new products, so we say it's a hit.
