Legendary adman Ram Sehgal has passed away.
Ram Sehgal had an illustrious career, spanning over 40 years, and was an icon of the advertising industry.
When Ram Sehgal was honoured with AAAI Lifetime Achievement Award
His advertising career began at S.H. Benson (Ogilvy) and later moved to JWT.
After working at JWT for 15 years, he was seconded to JWT’s subsidiary Contract Advertising as its president.
Over 16 years tenure, Ram was instrumental in molding Contract into one of the finest in the country. For his contributions to the advertising industry, he received the A&M advertising Man of the Year award. In 2001, the advertising club of Kolkata elected him to the Hall of Fame.
Ram served as the president of the advertising agency association of India and the chairman of the Advertising Standard Council of India for two years.
He was President of Everest in 1999-2000. In 2001, he succeeded Sandeep Goyal as President of Rediffusion.
A prolific writer, Ram has contributed articles to various newspapers and magazines on a variety of subjects. He has authored four books - MIXED FEELINGS, SECRETS OF ADVERTISING, AROUND THE WORLD IN 40 YEARS AND WHAT’S COOKING?
Ram Sehgal was reportedly living in Pondicherry and was connected with Sri Aurobindo Ashram.
