Following a multi-agency pitch, Lodestar UM has won the complete media mandate of Omron Healthcare India. McCann Healthcare has been awarded the creative duties. Industry sources have pegged the business to be upwards of Rs 25 crore. Neither the agencies nor the clients could be contacted at the time of filing the report, but industry sources informed that the agencies would begin work on the business from January 2011.
Omron Corporation of Japan, a key global player in advanced automation, sensing, and control technology, had announced the establishment of a new dedicated healthcare marketing subsidiary, Omron Healthcare India Pvt Ltd, in Gurgaon, Haryana in November 2010.
The new subsidiary will focus on responding to the health management needs of Indian people using Omron’s unique leading-edge technologies and products.
It is understood that the pitch had taken place in Japan with big agencies such as ADK, Hakuhodo and McCann Worldgroup taking part. The incumbent agency was ADK.
For Lodestar UM, the win comes close on the heels of Tata Teleservices realigning its portfolio to consolidate its media duties with Lodestar UM.
