This week, we put the spotlight on the economics of ad spends this festive season and examined if advertisers are bullish about the same. Team exchange4media also spoke to industry leaders and got an estimate of the Adex growth rate in 2017. Experts have predicted that the rate will be lowest in five years and would hover around the 10 per cent mark.

Meanwhile, there has been organisational restructuring at Dentsu Aegis Network. Kartik Iyer, Himanka Das, Rajni Menon, Joydeep Raha took on key roles at DAN. Iyer has been elevated to President of Media Brands and Amplifi, Menon is Carat CEO, Das is CEO of Vizeum, while Raha is CEO of Carat Context. Talking about happenings in the television industry, The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is now concentrating towards expansion in Indian regional languages and has made Delhi its second largest bureau after London. At India TV, there has been a structural reshuffling at the top management level. Piyush Padmakar, Anita Sharma, Amrendra Pratap Singh have been elevated to Managing Editors.

In two Friday evening developments, ZEEL acquired 9X Media for Rs 160 crore and Lodestar UM is tipped to win the media account of FMCG giant Marico. The total value of the account is around Rs 500 crore.
