  • Suresh Balakrishna, Chief Revenue Officer at The Hindu Group for eight years, will retire at the end of the month to pursue various leadership and advisory roles in business, academia, and corporate governance.
  • He will join VIT Business School in Chennai as a Consultant, focusing on brand positioning, industry engagement, and collaborations between academia and industry.
  • Balakrishna will also work with The Impact Collective as a Consultant, aiming to drive business growth and mentor its agencies in brand strategy and content.
  • He will maintain his role as an Independent Director on the boards of Jyothy Labs and Manappuram Jewellers, utilizing his extensive experience in corporate governance and business strategy.

Following an accomplished eight-year stint at The Hindu Group, where he served as the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), Suresh Balakrishna will retire at the end of this month and embark on a diverse portfolio of leadership and advisory roles spanning business, academia, marketing and corporate governance.

In the academic space, Suresh will be joining VIT Business School of VIT Chennai as a Consultant. He will work closely with the institution to strengthen its brand positioning, deepen industry engagement and create meaningful collaborations between academia and industry. His mandate includes helping students and faculty stay closely aligned with evolving business and market realities while building stronger industry partnerships.

Suresh will also be joining The Impact Collective as a Consultant, where he will spearhead business growth while mentoring the collective's agencies-Popkon, Story Tellers Union, and Emurge Sports. In this role, he will focus on creating integrated opportunities across brand strategy and content. The Impact Collective is a next-gen collaborative ecosystem that brings together specialists across branding, digital, AI-powered content, and storytelling.

Alongside these new assignments, Suresh will continue to serve as an Independent Director on the boards of Jyothy Labs and Manappuram Jewellers Private Limited, contributing his expertise in corporate governance, business strategy and growth.

With over three decades of experience across media, advertising, marketing and business leadership, Suresh Balakrishna's post-retirement journey reflects a continued commitment to mentoring organisations, shaping brands and fostering stronger industry ecosystems. Rather than stepping away from the corporate world, he is leveraging his extensive experience to create impact across business, education and board leadership.
