- CNN-News18 has appointed Muralidharan Kasiviswanathan as News Director (Converged Output), responsible for overseeing news output across various platforms.
- His role will focus on enhancing news judgment, story presentation, and execution across time bands, particularly in a digital-first environment.
- Kasiviswanathan will also contribute to Connected TV (CTV) strategy and lead efforts to integrate multi-platform newsroom operations.
- Anasuya Kumar has been appointed as the off-platforms lead, reporting to Kasiviswanathan, and is recognized for her contributions to original content and CRUX.
CNN-News18 has appointed Muralidharan Kasiviswanathan as News Director (Converged Output).
In this role, he will oversee the output function across platforms, ensuring sharp news judgment, strong framing & presentation of stories along with seamless execution across time bands.
Murali’s remit will extend well beyond linear television. In line with our evolving newsroom priorities, he will play a key leadership role across platforms most notably Connected TV and YouTube, driving coherence, speed, and impact in how our journalism reaches audiences in a digital-first environment.

His return strengthens our leadership bench at a time integration across formats is critical to our growth and relevance. Additionally, given that CNN NEWS18 is a crucible for CTV experimentation in the network, Murali will continue to be involved in drafting CTV strategy across the network.
