Edwin Charles Albert has stepped down from his role as Head of Content - Product, Marketing and Partnerships at Airtel Digital, after six and a half years with the company.
Edwin built Airtel's content and entertainment ecosystem from the ground up — spanning Wynk Music and Airtel Xstream. Under his stewardship, the portfolio grew into one of the country's largest digital entertainment franchises, crossing well over 13 million paid subscribers, while pioneering AI and ML-led approaches to retention that meaningfully strengthened the business.
His work spanned content growth, partnerships, and the subscription P&L across Airtel's digital portfolio — and his departure marks the close of a defining chapter in Airtel's content and entertainment journey.
Before Airtel, Edwin held content and creator-ecosystem roles at ByteDance, working across TikTok and Helo, as well as at Times Internet and Viral Shots — a background straddling both editorial and platform-scale content operations.
"After six and a half years, I'm moving on to my next chapter," said Edwin. "I had the privilege of building Airtel's content and entertainment ecosystem from the ground up and carrying it through every stage of its growth. We turned ambitious bets into products that became part of everyday life for millions of users, and that's something I'll always be proud of. I'm grateful to the leadership and teams I worked alongside, and I leave excited for what's ahead."
Edwin brings over a decade of experience across India's media and consumer technology landscape, and continues his career in product leadership within the digital and streaming space. His next move has not yet been announced.
