Senior television journalist Sumit Awasthi has joined Times Now Navbharat as Senior Consulting Editor. He recently stepped down from his role at NDTV.
Awasthi had been working with NDTV India for nearly two-and-a-half years as a Consulting Editor, where he hosted the shows Hum Bharat Ke Log and Khabron Ki Khabar.
With close to 25 years of experience, he is regarded as one of India’s most seasoned political journalists. Before joining NDTV in July 2023, he was Vice President (News & Production) at ABP News, having joined ABP in 2018 as a Consulting Editor. Earlier in his career, Awasthi worked at Network18 (as Deputy Managing Editor), Zee News (Resident Editor), and Aaj Tak (Deputy Editor).
Over the years, he has received several prestigious awards, including the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award, the Madhav Jyoti Award, and honours from the exchange4media News Broadcasting Awards (ENBA).
