Tanweer Azam appointed Chief Content Officer and Head of Events at BAG Convergence

BAG Convergence has appointed Tanweer Azam as Chief Content Officer (CCO) and Head of Events, responsible for overseeing the company's content vision and events strategy across various platforms, including News24 and E24.
Tanweer Azam brings 20 years of experience in journalism and digital content leadership, having previously worked with organizations such as Zee Media, India.com, DNA, and Microsoft.
His expertise includes infotainment, lifestyle, technology, and feature storytelling, with a focus on SEO, data-driven strategies, and audience engagement.
In his new role, Tanweer will unify content, product, and events strategies, develop intellectual properties and large-scale events, and enhance multi-format storytelling across the company's brands.

BAG Convergence has named Tanweer Azam as its Chief Content Officer (CCO) and Head of Events. In this role, he will oversee the company’s content vision and events strategy, working across all news, entertainment, and digital-first platforms, including News24 and E24.

Tanweer brings 20 years of experience in journalism, digital content leadership, and brand development, having started his career in 2006. He has previously worked with prominent organizations such as Zee Media, India.com, DNA, and Microsoft, where he drove digital growth, content innovation, and audience engagement. His expertise spans infotainment, lifestyle, technology, entertainment, and feature storytelling, with a strong focus on SEO, data-driven strategies, and user-focused content.

During his tenure at Zee Media and India.com, Tanweer strengthened the infotainment and entertainment segments, leading teams that consistently produced high-impact, high-traffic content. At DNA, he managed content for both English and Hindi platforms, balancing depth and speed in a fast-moving digital news environment. His experience at Microsoft provided him with insights into product and technology, helping him integrate platform analytics, user behavior, and UX into content and brand strategy.

At BAG Convergence, Tanweer will focus on unifying content, product, and events into a cohesive strategy. He will develop IPs, special series, and large-scale events to reinforce the company’s position as a leader in digital media and content innovation. Additionally, he will work closely with editorial and business teams to expand multi-format storytelling across text, video, audio, and social platforms, ensuring that engaging, reliable, and insightful journalism continues to reach audiences across all of the group’s brands.
