Sudhir Rehgarh Nagpal, who previously held the position of Head of International Business at Disney Star, will now take on the role of overseeing International Business Development at JioStar. His extensive experience spans over two decades across global markets, covering strategic roles in business growth and regional development, providing a robust foundation for his new responsibilities.

In his recent role at Disney Star, Nagpal was responsible for leading international business strategies from Dubai, managing market expansion across multiple regions, including the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. Prior to Disney Star, he held significant leadership positions at Pidilite Industries Limited as President for the Middle East and Africa, focusing on operational growth in emerging markets. His earlier experience includes roles at Marico Ltd. as Business Head for the Middle East, Regional Head for South India, and strategic management roles at Asian Paints, Wipro Ltd., and Honda Siel Power Products Ltd.

On November 14, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Viacom18 Media, and The Walt Disney Company finalized a joint venture (JV) that marks a major shift in India's media and entertainment landscape. This JV, approved by NCLT Mumbai, the Competition Commission of India, and other regulatory bodies, combines Viacom18’s and JioCinema's media assets with Star India, creating a conglomerate valued at around Rs 70,352 crore (US$8.5 billion). RIL has invested Rs 11,500 crore (US$1.4 billion) in the JV to support its growth.
Controlled by RIL with a 56% stake, the JV includes Disney (36.84%) and Viacom18 (46.82%) and brings together top entertainment brands such as Star, Colors, JioCinema, and Hotstar. With over 100 TV channels, 30,000+ hours of annual content, and a digital subscriber base exceeding 50 million, this JV is set to reshape India's entertainment industry.
