Palki Sharma has stepped down from her position as Managing Editor of Firstpost. According to sources, she is now planning to start her own venture.
The development was communicated to Firstpost employees through an internal note, accessed by e4m.
Santosh Menon, in the note, said, “It is with a heavy heart that I share an important leadership update at Firstpost. After a remarkable tenure as Managing Editor, Palki Sharma has decided to step down.”
During her time at Firstpost, Sharma played an important role in launching the prime-time show Vantage and helped shape its editorial direction. She also anchored the show, covering international news and presenting global developments from an Indian perspective. Her work received significant appreciation.
Apart from her on-air role, Sharma also contributed to building a strong editorial team and promoting a culture focused on journalistic standards and excellence. Menon thanked her for her contributions and wished her success in her future entrepreneurial plans.
Meanwhile, Menon also announced that Binoy Prabhakar has joined Firstpost as Chief Content Officer.
Prabhakar is an experienced editor with a career spanning several leading media organisations, including Hindustan Times, The Economic Times, The Indian Express, Moneycontrol and CNBCTV18.com. With around 25 years of editorial experience, he has also worked on building and managing digital news operations.
As Chief Content Officer, Prabhakar will be responsible for guiding and strengthening Firstpost’s editorial strategy as the brand enters its next phase.
