Journalist and former political editor of News18 India, Yatendra Sharma, has begun new innings in politics. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed him as a state minister in the new state executive committee of Uttar Pradesh.

Yatendra Sharma's name has been included as a state minister in the recently released list of the new Uttar Pradesh BJP State Working Committee. Prior to this, he had a long-standing career in journalism and recently resigned from News18 India.

Sharma began his journalism career in 2006 with S1 News. He then joined MH1 News and later spent nearly 11 and a half years at India News, holding various positions, distinguishing himself in political reporting.

In February 2021, he joined News18 India, serving as Political Editor and Anchor. During this time, he led the Delhi reporting team and was entrusted with key responsibilities such as political coverage strategy, reporter movement, ideation, and anchoring of major political programs on TV and digital platforms. Sharma is considered to have a strong grasp on political affairs, reporting on the BJP, RSS, and various central government ministries.

After nearly two decades of journalism, Yatendra Sharma has now entered active politics. His appointment as a state minister in the Uttar Pradesh BJP's state executive committee is being considered significant in both the political and media circles.
