  • Network18 has appointed Anurag Iyer as the CEO of Creator18, succeeding Angad Bhatia, who recently left to start his own creator-focused venture.
  • Iyer's appointment is part of a leadership transition in Network18's digital business following Bhatia's exit in April.
  • With over 15 years of experience in the creator economy, Iyer aims to enhance Creator18's efforts in building a creator-led content and distribution ecosystem.
  • The company is focusing on integrating creators into its content strategy and expanding revenue opportunities in the evolving digital media landscape.

Network18 has appointed Anurag Iyer as the CEO of Creator18, weeks after Angad Bhatia stepped down as CEO of Firstpost and Creator18 to launch his own creator-focused venture.

The appointment comes as part of a leadership transition within the group’s digital business following Bhatia’s exit in April. Creator18 had been central to Network18’s push into the creator economy under Bhatia’s leadership.

Iyer's role is expected to support the company’s ongoing efforts to build a creator-led content and distribution ecosystem.

A culture marketing and creator economy leader, Iyer brings over 15 years of experience in building monetisation engines across content, creators and platforms. He has held leadership roles at Collective Artists Network, InMobi, TikTok, BloombergQuint and Network18.

Earlier, as CEO of BigBangSocial, Iyer focused on building scalable systems that translate culture into revenue, moving beyond campaign-led approaches to long-term business models.

The development follows Bhatia’s decision to step down and start an independent creator fund, marking a shift in leadership at a time when Creator18 is expanding its focus on creator-driven content formats and new revenue streams.

Network18 has been moving towards to integrate creators more deeply into its content strategy through Creator18, a unit aimed at enabling collaborations between brands and digital creators.

With Iyer’s appointment, the company is expected to continue its focus on scaling revenue opportunities and strengthening its position in the evolving digital media landscape.
