The New York Times has appointed Jody Quon as the next Editor-in-Chief of T Magazine, marking her return to the publication after more than two decades.

Quon succeeds Hanya Yanagihara, who stepped down as Editor-in-Chief earlier this year after leading the magazine for nine years.

Most recently, Quon served as Creative Director at New York Magazine.

In an internal note announcing the appointment, Executive Editor Joe Kahn and Deputy Managing Editor Sam Dolnick described Quon as "a magazine virtuoso and creative powerhouse" with a distinctive ability to blend visual storytelling and editorial excellence.

Quon's appointment also marks a return to The New York Times, where she began her career as a photo researcher for Fashion of the Times, later becoming Deputy Photo Editor at The New York Times Magazine under former Director of Photography Kathy Ryan.
