Vikas Dhoot has been promoted to the position of Editor at Business Standard. He was earlier working as Resident Editor at the publication.

As per sources, he has taken over the role from Shailesh Dobhal, who was previously heading the editorial team.

Dhoot brings close to 30 years of experience in business and economic journalism, with strong expertise in areas like policy, governance, and financial reporting. He had joined Business Standard earlier this year as Resident Editor and has now moved into a larger leadership role.

Before this, he worked with The Hindu, where he held senior positions such as Business Editor, Senior Associate Editor, and Economics Editor. During his time there, he handled coverage related to economic policy and worked closely with different editorial teams.

In the past, Dhoot has also been part of The Economic Times, The Financial Express, and The Indian Express, where he reported on key government offices and economic ministries. He also spent over five years at Businessworld, covering financial markets, regulations, and public policy.
