Senior journalist Vijay Rawat joins NDTV as Executive Editor

Senior journalist Vijay Rawat has started a new chapter in his media career by joining NDTV as Executive Editor. In his new role, Rawat will oversee NDTV’s Hindi website, strengthening the network’s digital news operations.

In his new role, he will report to Santosh Kumar, Senior Managing Editor, NDTV (Hindi Digital). With his long experience in journalism, Rawat is expected to play a key role in shaping editorial strategy and enhancing content delivery on the Hindi digital platform.

Vijay Rawat recently announced his retirement from his position at the India Today Group. He had been with the group for over nine years and served as Executive Editor of the group's Hindi website, aajtak.in. His last working day at the group was on January 21.

Vijay Rawat, originally from Gwalior, has over 25 years of experience in print and digital media, having played key roles in several major media organizations. He began his career in journalism as a staff reporter at Dainik Jagran, Gwalior. He then spent extensive time behind the desks of Haribhoomi, Rohtak, Amar Ujala, Noida, and Dainik Jagran, Noida.

In 2008, he joined the launch team of Network18's Hindi website IBNKhabar (now News18 India) and spent over eight years there, serving in various capacities from copy editor to news editor. In December 2016, he joined Aaj Tak Digital as an Assistant Editor and after recently ending his stint at the India Today Group, he has now joined NDTV.

Rawat is known in the Hindi digital industry for his command over content, editorial efficiency and as a strong team leader. He is a science graduate from Jiwaji University in Gwalior. He also holds a diploma in journalism from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University in Agra and an MA in journalism from Guru Jambheshwar University in Hisar.
